Garita Rehabilitaton - La Fortaleza

MFS Construction, LLC (MFS) provided construction services for the rehabilitation of the Garita located at the Palacio de Santa Catalina at La Fortaleza.

Project Details

La Fortaleza was built, by Spanish military, between 1533 and 1540 to protect the San Juan harbor. A fortified wall was constructed with wall-mounted turret at the outside perimeter of the Palacio de Santa Catalina to protect it. To carried out reparations to this historic landmark structures is required skilled historic reparation personnel to preserve and restore its fine craftsmanship and design.

In support of La Fortaleza and the Governor’s Office, MFS provided the skilled personnel, scaffold erection and safety equipment to carry out the replacement of the garita dome.
