Project Details

MFS provided a design/build/maintain contract for the replacement of two emergency generators at the Visitors Center in Castillo San Cristobal and El Polvorin maintenance facility located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We provided all management, engineering design, labor, equipment and material necessary to successfully complete the replacement of the existing emergency generators. The construction management team planned and executed construction activities from demolition of existing structure and equipment to installation and commissioning of new equipment. All operations where carefully executed considering the extensive traffic of pedestrians around the construction site. Planning with safety in mind and effective communication were crucial to the success of each major activity. Additionally, a 12-month maintenance program was developed and implemented at the two locations in order to enhance the existing NPS maintenance requirements.
