Project Details

Located in the Fort Hancock section of the park, the structures represent Officers Row, where U.S. Army officers and their families were housed until the fort’s decommissioning in 1974. Constructed between 1898 and 1909, the historic structures have experienced significant deterioration through the decades. As such, during stabilization work, it was of the utmost importance to preserve distinctive historical features of each house in accordance with the Department of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

Work focused primarily on roofing replacements, with the goal of preventing further water intrusion into the building interiors.

In addition to roofing replacements, the scope of work included the following exterior rehabilitation activities:

• Historic Removal and Dismantling

• Restoration & Rehabilitation

• Structural Repairs & Reinforcements

• Gutter/Downspout Repairs & Replacements

• Masonry Repairs & Replacements
